Keepsake Box

I just finished this keepsake box which could be used for one's special mementos; letters, pictures, treasures from a walk or it could be used as a container for laces or jewelry. Lots of possibilities.
I used chalk paint over a paper mache box, oh so easy even for this non-painter. I hesitantly applied fabric glue to adhere the wool and trim to the box, but it worked just fine.
Stitches: Chain, fly, colonial knots, buttonhole, buttonhole bar, long and short buttonhole stitch, and running stitch.
Pattern and kit are available in my Etsy shop.

Ironstone

My daughter sent me an Etsy gift certificate for Christmas and I  purchased these sturdy ironstone vessels. They're very versatile . But  I  am using one for flowers.  Even though they're artificial! Wool ones are on my agenda. I love how they are slightly chipped and I wonder what their histories are?  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could see this?

Here is my completed and newest  design: A Sampler Pillow. What a fun one this was! All 9 squares have different stitches but none of them are too difficult to master. It's amazing how different each little block looks. As you can see I used a very bright pallet but it would look marvelous with muted colors, like an old fashioned penny rug. I also applied running stitches to add a quilted look.
Stitches used: whip, seed, buttonhole, buttonhole wheel, chain, straight, stem, lazy daisy, running, long and short buttonhole, fly and colonial knots.
Pattern available in my Etsy shop.

Good Morning Eveyone!

I've been experimenting some with marbleizing wool. I followed the instructions as shown on Primitive Spirit's web site and the results have been interesting. I bought the perfect pot to do this project in; the KettlePot. Three 1/4 yards fit perfectly. If I find a piece that I don't like the results of, I do it again with 2 other color combinations or I do a quick-set method of over dyeing it. So nothing is lost.

Happy Day!

It's been nice having some quality time off these last couple months. My husband and I have been enjoying ourselves ..... with a lot of cooking, baking and eating! My "to do" list has gone by the wayside. Oh well...I'll blame it on the weather, which has been sooo very cold here.
But I am looking forward to our up coming shows next month.  One of which I'll be selling more hand made items rather than the wool. I've made a bunch of cases for glasses. It will be fun seeing old friends again and seeing what's new.
Pattern is available in my Etsy shop.

My Garden Cat

Just need to bind this one and it's ready to go! It was a fun piece to hook.
