Folk Bell Flowers

This is one of my wool appliqué wall hangings; Folk Bell Flowers that was just published in Primitive Quilts and Projects Summer issue! So cool.  I made this piece last year and have taught a class for it in our area. Sometime in the near future I plan to make a hooked rug pattern from it. I think it lends itself well for that. I'm slowly getting back into the groove of hooking.  But it's hard to find the time to do all the things I love to do.

Sweet Posies

Just finished up these 2 projects. The first one is in wool applique with very simple stitches: running, chain and cross. I added some sari ribbon and beads. I especially like the metal tin. I'm planning to make kits, providing I can find more of these tins at a good price.

With the same pattern I hooked a small wall hanging. Here I used a variety of yarns and ribbons as well as the wool strips. It kind of looks like an impressionist painting.

Thoughtful Hill Designs

I recently have become acquainted with a new wool applique designer: Anne Hardy owner of Thoughtful Hill Designs. Anne has created some really sweet designs for us. One in fact, has been published in Primitive Quilts and Projects, maybe you have seen it. I'm certain there will be many more! Her designs are indeed thoughtful and so darn cute. Which one should I do first?
