Latest Project

Started working on a new needle book. The background color is our hand dyed Parchment wool. Used a bit of hand dyed linen I had in my stash. I made a heart yo-yo using the tool from Clover. Oh, the heart, I tea stained to add an aged look. In the second photo I added the flower pot using our Cape Cod Cranberry wool, a bit of lace and stitched my initials next to an embroidered heart ( 2 bullions) flower. I should finish it tonight while listening to an ebook and I will post the completed needle book tomorrow.

Fox Trot Completed

I just finished Fox Trot, another hooked piece. I received many suggestions for the color of the little bird; black, blue, red, gold and cream, which I thought  would be a good choice. I added a touch of white to the ears and eye, so there's more balance. It's hard to tell from the photo but the border is a dark blue called After Midnight which is becoming one of my favorite darks.

I was recently asked which foundation I like to use the best. I use primarily  white primitive linen which is easy to transfer a drawing onto because it is light. And it has larger holes to accommodate my primitive hook.

I used a #6 cut throughout. I'm finding that this is my favorite size; not too fat as to tire my hands.

The pattern is available here: Fox Trot.

Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher Magazines

We recently restocked various issues of Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher magazines. Some are older ones (but new copies); full of classical designs that will never grow old. If ordering more than one issue, I will package them in a priority envelope and will refund you any overcharges on postage. (3 Issues fit nicely in one of these).

There's something so comforting reading a hard copy of such a wonderful magazine. I put my feet up, have a cup of tea and then plan my next project!
